Chapter 270
Evelyn arched an eyebrow and turned to face her. "What exactly did I do?"
Winifred smirked triumphantly, convinced she'd uncovered Evelyn's dirty secret. "About you being a man-stealer."
This woman kept playing innocent, but everyone knew she'd been sent to the training camp for seducing another woman's man. Winifred was determined to expose Evelyn's true colors so Felix would see her for the snake she was!
Evelyn pulled her hand away and narrowed her eyes. "Have I ever done anything to you?"
Not only had Winifred led her into the restricted zone and abandoned her, now she was trying to lecture her based on some ridiculous rumor?
Winifred wasn't backing down. "You messed with Felix! That's how you offended me!"
Felix? All this drama over that man? Evelyn let out a dry laugh, raising a challenging brow. "Your pathetic crush on Felix isn't my problem. Don't take your failures out on me."
"I knew you were a scheming little—"
Evelyn suddenly gripped Winifred's chin, making her gasp. "W-what are you doing?"
That icy stare bore into her. "Didn't anyone teach you not to spread malicious gossip?"
The surrounding trainees watched in confusion. "Your insecurity isn't my fault," Evelyn continued calmly. "But being a toxic, jealous bitch? That's entirely on you." She released Winifred with a dismissive flick of her wrist.
Crossing her arms, Evelyn delivered her final blow. "Wonder what Instructor Lancaster would say if he knew you led a new recruit into restricted territory and left her there?"
"You— He'd never believe you!" Winifred's voice cracked with panic.
"Really?" Evelyn tilted her head. "I just arrived. How would I know where the restricted zones are? But you've been here a year... Do you think the instructor's an idiot?"
With a careless shrug, Evelyn watched as Winifred turned pale and stormed off in a huff. Shaking her head at the childish display, Evelyn turned away.
Meanwhile, Winifred marched straight to the basketball court where Felix was playing. "Felix!" she shrieked.
The young Boucher heir didn't even glance her way, focused on his game. His friends nudged him until he finally turned with an irritated scowl. "What?"
Winifred stomped closer. "Did you know Evelyn's a known man-stealer? She got sent here because she was sleeping with someone else's husband! Don't be fooled by her act!"
Felix tucked the basketball under his arm, giving her an incredulous look. "Are you delusional, Winifred? Since when did you become such a gossip?"
"It's the truth! Why won't you believe me?"
"Why should I?" Felix passed the ball to a teammate and planted his hands on his hips. "Listen, Winifred. I know you're into me, but you're not my type." He pointed a warning finger at her. "And if you mess with Evelyn again, you'll regret it."
Snatching the ball back, he returned to his game without another glance.
"You'll regret this, Felix Boucher!" Winifred screamed after him before collapsing onto a bench in tears.
Two other girls rushed to comfort her, whispering suggestions. Winifred wiped her eyes viciously. "Didn't you hear him? He threatened me if I go near her again!"
