Chapter 295

Nathan arrived at the infirmary to find Adrian Boucher and an elderly gentleman already inside.

He recognized the older man immediately and understood exactly why Adrian had brought him here. Only the Bouchers had the influence to summon Professor Lennox from his reclusive lifestyle.

Professor Lennox was a renowned serum specialist in the medical field, known for his eccentric and aloof personality. Wealth and fame held no sway over him—his presence here was solely due to the Bouchers' request.

Adrian turned his head slowly, his lips curving into a smirk as he met Nathan's gaze. "You owe me one."

Nathan's expression remained stern. "I know. I'll repay the favor when the time comes."

The camp doctor stood nearby, honored to assist the legendary Professor Lennox as he examined Evelyn. The professor drew a vial of blood and handed it to the doctor. "Test this immediately."

The doctor hesitated, curiosity flickering in his eyes, but he didn't dare question the order. He took the sample and hurried to the lab.

Adrian noticed the unusual excitement in Professor Lennox's demeanor. Intrigued, he asked, "Professor, why test her blood?"

"There's something unusual about it," the professor murmured, stroking his chin thoughtfully. "In all my years, I've never seen a case like this. A pit viper bite should have been fatal—yet not only has the venom failed to spread to her organs, but its effects are actively weakening."

Pit viper venom was notoriously deadly, containing a complex cocktail of toxins that attacked the body rapidly. But Evelyn showed minimal signs of poisoning, and the venom seemed unable to circulate in her bloodstream.

Both Nathan and Adrian exchanged surprised glances.

"I haven't even administered the serum I brought," Professor Lennox continued. "Given how unique her blood is, I wanted to analyze it first."

Her blood is special? Nathan pressed his lips together, his mind racing. What other secrets is she hiding?

The doctor soon returned with the test results. "Professor Lennox, here you are."

The professor adjusted his spectacles and scanned the report, his expression shifting to one of astonishment. Nathan frowned. "What did you find?"

"Fascinating," Professor Lennox murmured. "Her blood exceeds normal human parameters in every measurable aspect—yet it doesn't negatively affect her."

He sat down, staring at the results as if they held the answers to an unsolved mystery.

Nathan approached Evelyn's bedside. "If she's fine, why hasn't she woken up yet?"

"Do you think she's invincible?" Professor Lennox scoffed, still absorbed in the report. "Be grateful she's alive. It'll take time for her to regain consciousness."

Nathan brushed his fingers against Evelyn's forehead, relieved to find her temperature normal—no fever, no signs of distress.

"Mr. Goldmann." Harrison's voice came from outside the infirmary.

Nathan straightened and stepped out.

Harrison wasted no time. "Our investigation confirmed that someone planted the viper in the training camp. We've apprehended the culprit—he confessed that Winifred ordered it."

Nathan's expression darkened.

Harrison continued, "Other witnesses confirmed Winifred has been targeting Ms. Vanderbilt. She was the one who lured her into the restricted area and arranged the match against Lillian."

"It wasn't me!" Winifred's desperate voice echoed from the detention room as an instructor dragged her inside. "I didn't put that snake here!"

She reached out, gripping the instructor's sleeve in a frantic attempt to stop him from leaving.
