Chapter 329
Tyler's face paled instantly.
"I'm the mother of the children your hate group tormented. I finally tracked you down."
Evelyn arched a brow.
Tyler spun on his heel to flee, but her fingers clamped around his wrist like steel. She barely applied pressure, yet he howled. "Ah—stop! It hurts!"
His friend froze, gaping as Tyler crumpled under her grip.
"I—I swear, I'm just the admin! They were the hired ones! This isn't on me!" Tyler whimpered, his arm throbbing.
Evelyn's gaze turned glacial. "You led them. That makes you most accountable. Fair, no?"
He choked on his breath, pain silencing him.
"Name your employer, and I’ll release you."
"I don’t know! But I can ask! The mods might—"
She loosened her hold.
Clutching his arm, Tyler fumbled for his phone and frantically messaged his contacts.
A ping. Multiple replies flooded in. He handed it over with a shaky breath.
Evelyn skimmed the chat. One response stood out: "Some Vanderbilt woman hired us. First name’s fuzzy—Vivian? Did she rat us out?"
Her lips curled.
Vivian.
She tossed the phone back. "Lure her out. Now."
Tyler gulped. "W-What’s your plan?"
Evelyn patted his shoulder, smiling sweetly. "Forward every chat with her. Then set a meetup. Don’t worry—I’ll cover your losses."
Twenty minutes later, Vivian stormed into the alley, suspicion flickering as she eyed the lone figure. Recognition struck like lightning.
"Evelyn Vanderbilt?" Her snarl dripped venom. "You scheming witch!"
Evelyn turned, unfazed. "I arranged this reunion. Surprised?"
Vivian trembled—then scoffed. "Miss me that much? Or still crying over your brats getting roasted online?"
Evelyn’s voice dropped to a lethal whisper. "Say that again."
"Gladly! Those little bastards—"
Crack!
The slap sent Vivian crashing into the wall. She clutched her burning cheek, eyes blazing. "You dare—?"
She lunged, nails aimed for Evelyn’s face—only to be slammed onto the pavement.
Evelyn yanked her up by the hair, their noses inches apart. "Your mother’s rotting in jail for murder. Half a month since I last educated you, and you’re still this stupid?"
Vivian spat through gritted teeth. "Because of you! I was sold to the Underground Freeway—forced into that life! You ruined me!"
