Chapter 346
Evelyn smirked at Vivian and tilted her head. "Instead of begging her for money, why not ask me? It's just cash, after all."
The men hesitated, exchanging uncertain glances.
Vivian's face twisted in panic. "Don't listen to her!"
"Vivian, why struggle when you're already drowning?" Evelyn leaned in, her voice a venomous whisper. "By the time I'm finished with you, they won't get a single cent from you anyway."
At that moment, two guards were thrown into the room. A group of armed bodyguards in black stormed in, swiftly tackling the two men to the ground before they could flee.
Nathan strode through the doorway like a storm descending—cold, untouchable, his presence freezing the air. The sharpness in his gaze softened slightly when he saw Evelyn holding Vivian hostage.
"Nathan, help me! Evelyn's lost her mind—she's going to kill me!" Vivian shrieked the moment she spotted him.
Nathan didn’t spare her a glance. Instead, he signaled the bodyguards, who immediately pulled Vivian away from Evelyn.
Evelyn walked toward him, and Nathan's eyes darkened when he noticed the faint scratch on her cheek.
His fingers brushed the mark, his voice dangerously low. "Who did this?"
Evelyn arched a brow. "Who do you think?"
Nathan’s gaze snapped to Vivian, and he extended a hand toward one of the bodyguards, who placed a gun in his palm.
Evelyn blinked. Was he really going to—
Bang.
Vivian’s scream tore through the air.
A bullet hole bloomed in her left arm, blood soaking into her sleeve.
Nathan didn’t hesitate. He fired again—this time into her right arm.
Vivian’s agonized wails echoed through the building. The pain of a bullet tearing through flesh was unbearable, and she crumpled, gasping.
Nathan reloaded with practiced ease, then shot twice more—once in each leg.
Vivian collapsed, her body convulsing. Blood trickled from her lips where she’d bitten her tongue, her limbs now useless, drenched in crimson.
Tears streamed down her face, her expression pure terror.
Nathan handed the gun back to the bodyguard, wiping his blood-splattered hands with a handkerchief before tossing it aside.
"That’s what happens when you lay a finger on Evelyn."
His voice held no emotion, the brutality of his actions sending a chill through the room. The two men on the floor trembled, pressing their foreheads to the ground.
Nathan turned to the nearest bodyguard. "Find her a 'good home' in the countryside. Even with ruined limbs, she can still serve a purpose. I’m sure some desperate farmer won’t mind."
Then his gaze shifted to the two men. "As for these two..."
They begged, their voices cracking. "She forced us! We didn’t do anything!"
Nathan ignored them, addressing the bodyguards instead. "Do whatever you want. Just make sure they stay alive."
With that, he took Evelyn’s hand and led her out. Behind them, the screams of the men filled the air, a symphony of pain.
