Chapter 41

Liam nodded eagerly. "Royal Crown has scouted us."

Sophia was completely taken aback. "You two are incredibly fortunate!"

Though honestly, just looking at their angelic faces, she'd want to sign them too if she were a talent scout.

Caleb bounced over and plopped down beside her. "Godmother, will you help them?"

"I-I'm not in the entertainment industry. How could I possibly help?" Sophia shifted uncomfortably.

"But your cousin is!"

Sophia's coffee cup trembled in her hand. She forced a smile. "You know about that?"

"Wasn't hard to find out. We definitely did our research on our godmother." Caleb grinned mischievously, his golden curls bouncing.

Sophia let out a dry chuckle. "Zoe really did create some little geniuses."

"Please, Godmother? If anyone bullies you later, we'll protect you too." Caleb tugged at her sleeve with puppy-dog eyes.

That adorable face was Sophia's weakness. "Alright, alright, of course I'll help." She laughed despite herself.

Vivian slammed the signed contract onto Evelyn's desk, her face twisted in fury. "Now I understand why you agreed so readily. This was all a setup to humiliate me, wasn't it?"

"You begged for this opportunity to prove yourself." Evelyn's voice was ice. "I gave you exactly what you wanted, and you failed spectacularly. Now you're blaming me?"

Vivian trembled with rage. "I should have known better than to trust you! Taylor Jewelry? What a joke of a company!"

Evelyn's gaze sharpened. "A joke? Taylor controls nearly half of Zlokova's jewelry market. How can you call yourself a Vanderbilt when you don't even know that?"

"Face it, Evelyn." Vivian crossed her arms with a sneer. "You're just jealous Father gave Viana Jewelry to me. I may not be as talented as you, but I have something you'll never have - his love and support."

She leaned in closer, her voice dripping with venom. "What's the point of coming back? I'll crush you at every turn. My advice? Don't cross me, or I'll make sure your life in Viana becomes unbearable."

Evelyn's expression darkened dangerously.

She had once believed reclaiming her mother's legacy was her sole purpose. But now she saw the truth - Viana meant nothing to her anymore.

'Father's coldness toward Mother... all because of Laura and Vivian.'

This woman who destroyed her family now dared threaten her with the very love that had been stolen from her.

Vivian couldn't resist gloating.

Evelyn had underestimated them before. She'd foolishly believed her father would always side with his firstborn.

That overconfidence had been her downfall.

What a pity. The Vanderbilt name held no power over her now. The only people who mattered were her three children. Not even Richard could touch her.
