Chapter 434

Rosalind's hands trembled slightly as she averted her gaze, unable to meet Evelyn's piercing stare. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

Evelyn took a step closer, her voice low and deliberate. "Is that the truth, or are you just pretending? Should I ask your new employer, Dominic Kent, for the answers instead?"

Rosalind's eyes flashed with resentment. "Evelyn, what exactly are you implying?"

With a dismissive shrug, Evelyn scoffed. "Exactly what you heard. Theodore Goldmann trusted you once, yet you betrayed the family and sided with Dominic. Do you really think he values you any more than they did?"

Rosalind's fists clenched, her lips curling into a bitter smile. "Why bother asking? Are you trying to win me back? Pathetic. Even if I returned to the Goldmanns now, there’s no future for me there. I might as well stay with Dominic."

A cold smirk twisted Rosalind’s lips when Evelyn remained silent. "So what if you’ve uncovered the truth about the incident fifteen years ago? Do you honestly think the Goldmanns would believe the de Armas are innocent because of it?"

She leaned in, her voice dripping with venom. "Evelyn Vanderbilt, don’t be naive. What can you possibly do for the Goldmanns now? The person you should be worrying about is Nathan. The Goldmanns can’t even protect themselves anymore—how laughable!"

The smugness in Rosalind’s tone sent a sharp pang through Evelyn’s chest, especially at the mention of Nathan. He was shot because of me. And those people from that night are connected to Dominic. I won’t show mercy to anyone who hurt my husband—no matter who they are.

Evelyn’s fingers curled into tight fists. "Rosalind Summers, I was going to give you a chance to leave with dignity. But it seems you don’t know how to appreciate kindness."

Rosalind threw her head back in a mocking laugh. "You giving me a chance? Evelyn Vanderbilt, what makes you think you have that right? You are the reason I’m in this position!"

Evelyn said nothing, her expression unreadable.

Rosalind lunged forward, gripping Evelyn’s collar, her face contorted with fury. "Nathan never should have fallen for you. You brought this upon him. You are the reason he’s suffering!"

Two bodyguards immediately seized Rosalind, forcing her back and restraining her arms.

Hatred burned in Rosalind’s eyes as she spat, "You claim to love him? Don’t worry—you’ll join him in death soon enough!"

Evelyn’s voice was eerily calm. "Before that happens, take care of yourself."

With a flick of her wrist, the bodyguards released Rosalind.

Confusion flickered across Rosalind’s face before she sneered. "Scared, are we? Why aren’t you doing anything to me? You dragged me here—don’t you want revenge? Go on! Order them to kill me if you dare!"

Evelyn’s lips curved into a chilling smile. "I won’t lay a finger on you. Someone else will do it for me. I hope you won’t regret your choices."

Rosalind stiffened, sensing the threat beneath Evelyn’s words, but she had no time to dwell on it. With a haughty toss of her head, she stormed out of the private room.

Evelyn watched her leave, arms crossed. Then, turning to her men, she ordered, "Download the surveillance footage and send it to me."

As she stepped out of the club, her phone buzzed—a message from Edmund.

[Nathan is awake.]

Her heart leaped. She signaled her driver. "To the hospital. Now."

At Kent Manor

Rosalind stumbled as she was suddenly shoved to the floor.

Dominic threw a tablet in front of her, the screen displaying footage of her leaving the LG Entertainment Club—followed by Evelyn.

Rosalind’s blood ran cold.

That bitch set me up!

"Mr. Kent, please—let me explain—"

A sharp cry cut through the air as Dominic’s hand struck her.
