Chapter 435

Rosalind was thrown against the wall with a brutal kick. Dominic loosened his tie, his dark eyes burning with fury.

"Traitorous wench," he hissed. "Having second thoughts about betraying me?"

Rosalind scrambled to her knees, trembling. "No! I swear, I didn’t say anything! Evelyn set me up—she forced me there to intimidate me!"

Dominic leaned down, gripping her chin with bruising force. "You know too much, Rosalind Summers. Do you really think I’d believe your pathetic lies?"

Her entire body shook. Dominic was paranoid—he despised betrayal above all else. Even if she had stayed silent, she now carried dangerous secrets. The virus. The conspiracy.

"I didn’t tell her anything!" she sobbed. "Please, Mr. Kent, you have to believe me! I was framed!"

Tears streamed down her face. She had nowhere left to run.

The Night Banquet is lost to me. The Goldmanns will kill me on sight. My only chance is to beg for mercy.

Dominic released her with a scoff.

Just as relief flickered in her chest, his voice cut through the air like ice. "Pathetic. Falling into someone else’s trap so easily."

A sharp bark echoed outside.

Rosalind’s blood turned to ice.

Three massive wolfhounds lunged into the room, their teeth bared, saliva dripping. Their handlers stood by, expressionless.

She clutched Dominic’s pant leg, desperation clawing at her throat. "Please! I’ll remember my place! Just give me another chance!"

He kicked her away without hesitation.

The handlers released the leashes.

The dogs attacked.

Screams tore through the night. Blood splattered across the floor.

Rosalind’s vision blurred as teeth sank into her flesh. Pain seared through her—her arm, her leg, her face.

She was nothing but prey.

Only when her cries grew weak did Dominic finally signal for the dogs to retreat.

Rosalind lay in a pool of blood, half her face mangled beyond recognition. Her breath came in shallow gasps.

Dominic sighed, as if bored. "Tsk. Maybe now you’ll learn." He waved a dismissive hand. "Get her patched up. Make sure she doesn’t die."

Two guards dragged her limp body away.

Dominic picked up the shattered tablet from the floor. The frozen image of Evelyn’s horrified face stared back at him.

With a snarl, he hurled it against the wall.

The screen shattered into pieces.

At the hospital...

Evelyn burst into the ward. "Nathan!"

Nathan barely had time to react before she crashed into him, her arms wrapping around him in a desperate embrace. The force sent him tumbling back onto the bed, pain flaring through his injuries.

He sucked in a sharp breath.

Evelyn jerked back, eyes wide. "Oh God—did I hurt you?"

Nathan chuckled weakly, his voice rough. "Were you trying to finish me off, sweetheart?"

Her lip trembled. Tears welled in her eyes.

Nathan’s smirk faded. Gently, he wiped a tear from her cheek. "Zoe… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you."

"You idiot!" she choked out.

Tears spilled over. Nathan pulled her into his arms, murmuring soft reassurances.

"Shh… it’s okay. I’m here."

Evelyn buried her face in his chest, her body shaking. "I thought—I thought you’d never wake up."

His grip tightened. "I’m not going anywhere."
