Chapter 46
Oliver couldn't quite place it, but something about Vivian rubbed him the wrong way. That frail, clueless woman didn't seem worthy of Mr. Goldmann's attention.
If Evelyn hadn’t been the one from six years ago, would Nathan have even tolerated her presence this long?
"Nathan, Zoe mentioned you gave her a new jewelry company. That can’t be true, can it?"
Nathan’s gaze darkened. "She wasn’t happy at Viana, so she left and transferred the shares to you. Is there a problem with that?"
"I—" Vivian broke into a cold sweat.
Evelyn had been telling the truth? Had Nathan really set up an entirely new company just to make her surrender the shares?
Absolute nonsense!
Vivian would rather have kept the shares of Viana!
"Nathan, I can return Viana’s shares to Zoe. Let her come back, okay? Viana was founded by her mother. How could she just abandon it?"
Yes, that was the right approach. If she showed she was willing to give the shares back, Nathan might soften toward her.
But her confidence shattered when she noticed the ice in his eyes.
Why was he looking at her like that?
"Are you questioning my decisions now?" Nathan’s tone carried a sharp edge, signaling his patience had worn thin.
Vivian paled. "Th-That’s not what I meant!"
"If not, then focus on Viana and leave the rest to me," Nathan commanded coldly.
Biting her lip, Vivian turned and stormed out, her heart burning with hatred—hatred for Evelyn!
If that wretched woman hadn’t returned, Nathan wouldn’t be treating her this way! He used to indulge her every whim, but now he wouldn’t even agree to kick Evelyn out of Ckgold!
That vile creature would pay for this one day.
At Royal Crown...
"You two better stick to the script, or all my efforts will be wasted."
Sophia carried Daisy in her arms while Liam walked beside her. As they entered the company, she couldn’t resist reminding them.
Daisy wrapped her tiny arms around Sophia’s neck and chirped, "Don’t worry, Godmother. We’ve got this."
When they reached the floor of Adrian Boucher’s studio, his assistant, Nina, blinked in surprise. "Ms. Hill?"
Her eyes widened further at the sight of the two children.
"Is Adrian in?" Sophia asked.
"He’s in his office. Can I help you with something?" Nina couldn’t stop stealing glances at the kids. They were breathtakingly beautiful!
"Oh, these two are my niece and nephew—new child stars Royal Crown just signed. I wanted Adrian to meet them."
"So these are the new talents everyone’s been talking about!" Nina had heard the rumors. She crouched down to Liam’s level and ruffled his hair. "Hello there."
Liam, either shy or indifferent, kept his head lowered. "Hi."
Nina melted. "Absolutely adorable! I had no idea they were already scouted."
A few female employees nearby immediately swarmed them, cooing and pinching cheeks.
Sophia stifled a laugh. Zoe’s kids were just too irresistible.
