Chapter 86
Nathan ignored Oliver, acting as though he'd been bewitched by Evelyn and couldn't resist seeing her again.
It had only been half a day, and already, he was itching to be near her.
I did give her three days to consider my proposal, but even that feels like an eternity.
At Beach Villa—
Evelyn pushed the spaghetti around her plate, appetite nonexistent. She kept glancing up, feeling as if her children had been stolen from her.
Tsk. Nathan is shameless beyond belief. He claims he’s giving me time to think, yet here he is, barging into my home for dinner.
Daisy sat perched on her father’s lap, thoroughly enjoying being fed by him.
Of course, Nathan didn’t just spoil Daisy. He occasionally served Liam and Caleb too. Liam remained stoic, while Caleb’s enthusiasm at least gave Evelyn some small comfort.
"Daddy, you should eat more! Try Mommy’s buffalo wings!" Daisy placed a wing on Nathan’s plate.
Evelyn’s eye twitched. "Daisy, he has hands. He can serve himself."
"Are you jealous, Mommy?"
Daisy’s gleeful expression nearly made Evelyn snap her fork in half.
Nathan smirked, ruffling Daisy’s hair. "Your mother might indeed be jealous."
Evelyn lowered her head, focusing on her food.
Nathan slid a wing onto her plate. "Don’t worry. I’ll spoil you too."
I shouldn’t neglect my beautiful wife just because of the kids. And yes, "beautiful wife" suits her perfectly.
She’s stunning, young, talented—she’d pass any audition for a woman worthy of my status. But this wife of mine is infuriating. She’s all looks and no touch. What am I supposed to do about that?
If Evelyn knew what Nathan was thinking, the bowl in her hands would’ve ended up on his face.
She eyed the chicken wing he’d given her, then immediately transferred it to Liam’s plate. "Your father says he’ll spoil you too. Eat up."
Liam glanced at Nathan, whose expression darkened, then calmly moved the wing to Caleb’s bowl. "He’ll spoil you. Have another."
Caleb was speechless.
Daisy, sensing the tension, knew she had to intervene. "Daddy, will you stay the night?"
Evelyn gritted her teeth. "Daisy, our house isn’t big enough for someone of his status!"
"But he’s not just someone—he’s Daddy!" Daisy pouted.
Nathan looked down at the little girl in his arms, lips curving.
Definitely my daughter.
Evelyn pointed out the obvious. "We don’t have an extra bed!"
Caleb looked up. "Your bed is huge. You could share with Daddy tonight!"
Evelyn slammed her fork down and stood.
The three children flinched.
She stormed to her room, grabbed a quilt and pillow, hurled them onto the couch, then marched back without another word.
SLAM! The door shut behind her.
Daisy looked up at Nathan. "Daddy, we tried our best..."
Then Liam pulled out a key and handed it to him. "I made a spare for Mommy’s room."
Nathan’s brows lifted. Now that’s what I call an assist.
Even Caleb and Daisy were impressed.
Liam was the undisputed MVP.
Back in her room, Evelyn locked the door, clutching the spare keys she’d taken from the kids’ rooms.
She leaned against the door, rubbing her temples.
This man is going to be the death of me.
