Chapter 94

"Mommy!"

Daisy came bounding toward Evelyn, her golden curls bouncing with each step. She tilted her head up with sparkling eyes. "Mommy, does this mean we get to live with Daddy forever now?"

Evelyn glanced sideways at Nathan standing beside her, lips pressed together. 'This wasn't exactly my choice!'

Nathan effortlessly scooped Daisy into his arms. "That's right, princess. We're all going to be one big happy family from now on."

The triplets erupted in cheers, their laughter filling the grand foyer. Evelyn crossed her arms, turning away with a huff - though she couldn't deny this was the happiest she'd ever seen her children.

Mr. Chester, the Goldmann family butler, stood beside Oliver with his mouth slightly agape. 'The young master not only has three heirs but has brought their mother home too! I always assumed Vivian Vanderbilt would become mistress of this household.'

Leaning toward Oliver, he whispered, "Is this truly to be our new lady of the house?"

Oliver gave a knowing smile. "She bore the Goldmann heirs. That makes her position quite unshakable, don't you think?"

"Ms. Vanderbilt?" Mr. Chester's eyebrows shot up. "But I thought—"

"The illegitimate one is Vivian," Oliver clarified. "Evelyn is the true Vanderbilt heiress."

Understanding dawned on the butler's face. 'Ah, so that explains everything!'

A maid escorted Evelyn to what she assumed would be her private quarters. As she stepped inside, something immediately felt off about the lavish bedroom.

"Mr. Goldmann," the maids chorused as Nathan entered behind her, quickly making themselves scarce.

"Wait—" Evelyn spun around to call them back.

Nathan blocked her path, towering over her. "What's the matter? Isn't my room good enough for you?"

"I don't want to share a room with you," Evelyn stated flatly, attempting to push past him.

In one fluid motion, Nathan wrapped an arm around her waist, spun her around, and pinned her against the wall. His gaze was intense yet playful. "I said I wouldn't force you into anything. I never said we wouldn't be sharing a bed."

Evelyn's eyes narrowed. "How is that any different?"

"Simple." He leaned in closer, his breath warm against her skin. "Sleeping together builds intimacy. I won't cross any lines without your consent... unless you beg me to someday."

Evelyn let out an incredulous laugh and shoved at his chest. "Then back off!"

"I said I wouldn't touch you," Nathan murmured, his lips hovering dangerously close to hers. "I never said I wouldn't be tempted."

"Nathan Goldmann, you—"

His mouth captured hers in a searing kiss before she could finish. The space between them evaporated as their breaths mingled.

Evelyn clawed at his arms and stomped on his foot, but his grip was unyielding. The kiss was all-consuming, leaving her dizzy and breathless.

Three small heads peeked through the doorway. Liam quickly covered Daisy's eyes with his hand.

"Hey! I can't see!" Daisy whined, squirming.

Evelyn finally managed to shove Nathan away and turned to see her children watching with varying degrees of amusement.

Caleb giggled. "Are you and Daddy making us a new baby sister?"

Daisy gasped, finally freeing herself from Liam's grasp. "Really? A baby?"

Liam rolled his eyes. "You don't get pregnant from kissing, dummy."

Flushing crimson, Evelyn wiped her mouth and stormed out of the room.

Nathan touched his lips, unable to suppress a satisfied smirk. 'Even better than I remembered.'

That night...

Evelyn took extreme precautions, wearing multiple layers of pajamas and curling into the farthest corner of the massive bed. She was already feigning sleep when Nathan entered.

He paused in the doorway, shaking his head at the sight of his wife cocooned in blankets like a defensive burrito. The corner of his mouth twitched in amusement as he approached the bed.
