Chapter 186

“Ah!”

Nathaniel’s fist slammed into Lawrence’s face, sending him stumbling backward.

His pants slid down his waist as he hit the floor.

Lawrence scrambled to his feet, ready to fight back.

But he froze the moment he recognized the man before him.

It was Mr. Blackwood. The powerful Mr. Blackwood from Westchester was here at The Ritz-Carlton!

No, he couldn’t panic now. Panicking would ruin everything.

He quickly tried to explain. “Mr. Blackwood, please listen to me. Ms. Montgomery was the one who wanted this. Everyone here can testify. She invited me to her room and asked me to sleep with her—ahh!”

Another punch cut off his words.

Nathaniel’s voice was cold and dangerous. “She wouldn’t even have me. Why would she want someone like you? How dare you accuse my woman?” He laughed bitterly before striking again.

Lawrence was beaten mercilessly. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, and one of his teeth was knocked out.

Just then, Isabella let out a weak groan.

Nathaniel threw Lawrence out the door. “Dominic, lock him up. Isabella will deal with him tomorrow.”

“Yes, sir.” Dominic grabbed Lawrence by the collar and dragged him away.

This fool had dared to lay hands on the chairman’s future wife. He was asking for death.

Nathaniel shut the door and rushed back to the sofa.

Isabella’s face was flushed, her clothes torn. She seemed barely conscious but aware enough to feel exposed.

Nathaniel quickly removed his jacket and draped it over her.

Dizzy and burning up, Isabella felt a cool presence beside her. She instinctively reached for it, wrapping her arms around Nathaniel’s waist.

Nathaniel stiffened, his heart racing. He had never felt this way about any woman before. Aside from the girl from five years ago, Isabella was the only one who stirred such emotions in him.

“Hold on,” he whispered gently. “Sebastian is bringing the medicine.”

“I feel… awful…” Isabella murmured, her voice weak. She was losing control, her body craving relief from the intense heat.

The drug was strong. The only thing that soothed her was the coolness of Nathaniel’s body.

Nathaniel’s expression darkened. He turned to her and asked firmly, “Isabella, do you know who I am?”

Isabella didn’t answer. Her eyes were barely open as she pressed against him limply. She wrapped her arms around his neck and mumbled, “I’ll pay you… I don’t care who you are… name your price…”

Her scorching breath brushed against his neck, sending fire through his veins.

Nathaniel realized she had completely lost her senses. He couldn’t take advantage of her in this state.

He grabbed her restless hands, his voice strained but controlled. “Isabella, you’re testing my limits.”

Isabella was already overwhelmed, but the sound of his deep, magnetic voice made her want him even more.

She pressed her body against his, overpowering him until he fell back against the sofa.
