Chapter 366

“Mr. Whitmore, Senior Whitmore and Madam Whitmore require your immediate presence at Grace Memorial Hospital.”

“Hospital? Why?” Alexander’s brow furrowed.

Theodore responded, “Victoria underwent surgery and nearly bled out. The Montgomery family is causing a scene and demanding answers from you.”

Alexander’s temple throbbed. Nearly bled out?

The Montgomerys and the Whitmores knew?

How?

How was this possible?!

Today was his only window of opportunity! Once Nathaniel returned to Isabella, everything would be ruined! It was a twenty-minute drive to Rosewood Manor… just twenty minutes away! He told Theodore, “I’ll be there in three hours. Have them calm down first—I’ll provide a full explanation later.”

“Apologies, Sir, but Senior Whitmore insists you come immediately. The Montgomery family has already begun contacting reporters and lawyers!”

If Alexander refused to go to the hospital, the Montgomerys would go public and file charges against him!

Damn it!

Alexander slammed his fist against the steering wheel in fury.

At Rosewood Manor…

Isabella was playing a video game with Christopher. He controlled a rabbit-like character that hopped around, following her avatar. Whenever an enemy attacked, he would jump in front of her to defend.

A warm smile touched Isabella’s lips. Even in a game, she felt protected.

Mid-game, her phone rang. She dismissed the call and continued playing.

It rang again almost immediately. She answered, balancing the phone between her shoulder and chin while her fingers flew across the controller.

Theodore Montgomery’s voice came through. “Isabella, are you available? Come to Grace Memorial Hospital right away. Victoria’s condition is critical.”

“What? What happened?” Isabella asked.

She’d had almost no contact with Victoria since the wedding. The Montgomery family hadn’t pushed for any meetings either.

Theodore sighed heavily. “She was pregnant with Alexander’s child. He forced her to terminate it. We need you here.”

Theodore respected Isabella’s decisions. Regardless of the outcome, they would make Alexander explain. Since Isabella had nearly married him, she deserved to know the truth.

Isabella’s frown deepened. So it had finally happened. She had been waiting for this day.

“Alright,” she replied. “I’ll be there within thirty minutes.”

The game ended just as she hung up. She walked over to Christopher. “Momo, can you stay home for a little while? Mommy will ask a very special friend to come play with you. I’ll be back in two hours!”

“Momo wants to go with Mommy!” Christopher jumped off the sofa, his small face set with determination.

Isabella ruffled his hair. “Momo, listen. My friend can jump off roofs and walk on walls. He can teach you!”

“Jump off roofs? Walk on walls? Really?” Christopher’s eyes widened with excitement.

Isabella nodded and called Maxwell.

Maxwell arrived at the house quickly. “Play some climbing games with Momo,” Isabella instructed. “And take excellent care of him.”

Rock climbing games? Child’s play! Why would a top-tier agent be doing this?

“Make sure Momo has fun,” Isabella stated firmly. “Or I’ll have you transferred to the Africa division.”

“Fine! Alright!” Maxwell agreed instantly.

Isabella handed Christopher over to Maxwell and left the manor.

Just as she had anticipated. Victoria had finally made her move. Perfect. The show was about to begin.
