Chapter 438

“You pretended to help me win Isabella while secretly plotting her death! You never intended for me to actually connect with her!”

“Did you really think I wouldn’t discover your little scheme with Harrison? That you tried to seduce Nathaniel Blackwood?”

Alexander’s voice was ice. Each word cut through the air like a shard of glass.

His expression held no trace of their past warmth. Only cold contempt.

Victoria flinched. Her face drained of color.

He knew. He knew everything.

A slow, bitter laugh escaped her lips. “Fine. No more lies. You’re right. But ask yourself this—who pushed me to this?”

“Why do you get to chase Isabella despite your ruined reputation, while I’m not allowed to find someone else? If you had treated me like you used to, would I have been driven to this?”

“You think I did this for myself? Before I tried to seduce Nathaniel, you were all I wanted! But you? You fell for Isabella long ago! You stopped loving me ages ago!”

Her voice broke with raw pain and fury.

Alexander’s frown deepened. Her words echoed in his mind. ‘You fell for Isabella long ago.’

Was that true?

He adjusted his collar irritably. “If you hate me that much, then get out. I want nothing more to do with you.”

Victoria’s smile turned mocking. Hah! Nothing to do with her? How easily he said that.

He could discard her because his heart belonged to another. But he was the man she had loved from the start!

Driven to desperation, she had tried to claim Nathaniel for herself.

All she ever wanted was to marry Alexander, be his wife, build a life together. And what did she get?

She cooled her emotions, recomposing herself. “I don’t want anything to do with you either. I’m here to propose a business deal.”

“I’m busy. Not interested.” He picked up a document, dismissing her. He had no patience for a woman who betrayed him.

She sat down opposite him. “You will be interested. I want you to buy the fifteen percent shares from Penelope and Sophia. With the Montgomery Group’s reputation damaged, twenty billion should secure them.”

“After you acquire those shares, you will marry me.”

“Marry you?” He looked up, his tone dripping with condescension. “Are you insane?”

The words stabbed her heart. She was once the world's top supermodel, the woman he vowed to marry. Now he looked at her with pure disgust.

She swallowed her pain. “Don’t worry. I don’t need a grand wedding. Just the paperwork. It will salvage my reputation.”

The negative articles were suppressed, but only thanks to Theodore Montgomery’s money. Buying热搜, scrubbing the internet, paying for fake comments—it cost a fortune.

But it was all surface. Everyone still mocked her. The Montgomerys despised her.

Only Alexander’s public forgiveness could truly clear her name.

“It will be a marriage on paper only,” she added. “I won’t interfere in your life. Furthermore, I’ll sell you my sixty percent stake at half its market value.”

“Once you acquire my shares and the fifteen percent, you’ll hold seventy-five percent of Montgomery Group. You’ll become the director. Isabella, with her mere twenty-five percent, will have to answer to you.”

Alexander’s eyes darkened. The offer was significant.

Following her plan, he could buy a controlling sixty percent at a massive discount. Combined with the other shares, he would own seventy-five percent of the entire company.

He would effectively control the Montgomery Group.
