Chapter 472
Only Victoria’s abrupt departure made the entire Montgomery family grasp the severity of the situation.
Isabella wanted to witness everyone’s reaction when they finally saw Victoria’s true nature.
At the Kensington estate.
When Victoria, William, and Beatrice returned, they found the mansion completely ransacked.
Sofas were slashed. Tables were overturned. Expensive decor lay shattered across the marble floors.
Beatrice’s hand flew to her chest. “What in heaven’s name happened here?”
“A break-in? The security code was bypassed. I’m checking the cameras.” William stormed toward the security room.
Victoria and Beatrice hurried after him.
The surveillance footage showed a figure in black keying in the passcode with ease.
The intruder systematically combed through the rooms, pocketing valuable jewelry and artifacts.
Then the person turned directly toward the hidden camera and grinned. “A message from Ms. Montgomery. She said you shouldn’t have crossed her. How dare you speak to her like that! She’s taking all your assets within seventy-two hours. Just wait.”
William’s face purpled with rage. Beatrice swayed on her feet, grabbing the desk for support.
Isabella! How could she do this? The sheer audacity!
Not only the invasion, but a direct threat to seize everything they owned in three days?
“That vile, ungrateful wretch!” Beatrice shrieked, her voice trembling with fury.
Victoria rushed to her side. “Grandfather! Grandmother! Please, stay calm. Your health is paramount. If something happens to you, Isabella will get everything. You know Benjamin and I are no match for her. We can’t possibly fight her…! Listening to that… she’s clearly plotting something drastic…”
“Preposterous! I’d rather donate my entire fortune to charity than let that witch inherit a single penny! I’m drafting my will this instant! She gets nothing!” William roared, scrambling for a pen and paper.
A glint flashed in Victoria’s eyes. She gently held his arm. “Grandfather, you’re in perfect health. A will is so… final. But Isabella is cunning. I don’t know what she did, but she manipulated Theodore into giving her twenty-five percent of the Montgomery shares. That’s over forty billion!”
“Even if you write a will now, she might find a way to contest it. To seize it all. I suggest a direct transfer. Move all your assets to Mother first. They’ll be safer with her.”
She sounded utterly sincere, every word dripping with concern.
William scowled. “Your mother is a foolish woman. None of this would have happened if she hadn’t brought that viper into our home!”
“Then… to Benjamin? Transfer everything to Benjamin,” Victoria proposed softly.
Beatrice sighed deeply. “The share transfer requires his signature. We have no idea when he’ll wake up. I have this dreadful feeling… like a storm is coming. This must be settled immediately.”
Her gaze then landed on Victoria, and her eyes lit up. “Victoria! Of course! We’ll transfer everything to you! You are our most trusted granddaughter. We entrust it all to you!”
“No, Grandmother, please… I can’t accept. My reputation is in ruins. No one will have me now. I don’t deserve your generosity…” Victoria hung her head, a picture of shame and guilt.
Beatrice gently took her hand. “You were framed by that wretched girl. Isabella schemed to take what was yours. It’s only right you have this. The incident with Harrison… you were the victim! We don’t blame you. The shares are yours!”
“She’s right. I’m calling my attorney. He’ll be here shortly. Victoria, come with me. I’m giving you the key to my vault.” William already had his phone to his ear, ushering Victoria toward his private vault.
As she followed behind him, a triumphant smirk curled on Victoria’s lips.
