Chapter 155

She was gone from this world. All that remained were ashes in an urn.

"Of course I'm Alexander's wife. The whole of Willowbrook knows this!" Victoria couldn't wait to proclaim her relationship with Alexander.

Evelyn suddenly realized. "So you're that famous Miss Lancaster, Victoria Montgomery?"

Victoria's arrogant smirk returned at these words.

But after a brief pause, Evelyn continued, "The woman who drove her sister Evelyn to despair by stealing her identity before taking her sister's husband? You're that homewrecker, Victoria Montgomery, aren't you?"

Victoria's face darkened, though she quickly plastered on an innocent expression.

"How dare you spread such lies? When did I ever steal my sister's husband? Alexander and I have always belonged together, isn't that right, Alexander? The one you've loved all along has only ever been me," she said, gazing at Alexander with practiced devotion.

Yet Alexander's attention remained fixed on Evelyn. His piercing stare seemed determined to see through her sunglasses.

Her resemblance to Evelyn was uncanny, even without seeing her eyes.

"Let's go," Alexander finally said, turning to leave.

Noticing the judgmental stares from bystanders, Victoria shot Evelyn a venomous glare before scurrying after Alexander.

Evelyn watched Alexander's retreating figure and called out, "Mr. Blackwood, does your silence mean you agree with what I just said?"

Alexander froze just as he reached for the door handle.

She had deliberately humiliated them publicly.

Victoria was the mistress, Alexander the cheating husband. Their wealthy backgrounds couldn't erase their shameful actions.

Evelyn expected Alexander to defend Victoria angrily.

Instead, he turned with a devastating smile.

Three years had only enhanced his striking presence.

His magnetic charm made several women nearby blush.

"You seem quite interested in my personal affairs, Miss." He handed her a business card with a smirk. "Call me anytime if you'd like the full story."

Evelyn accepted the card with an enigmatic smile. "I believe we'll be seeing each other very soon."

Alexander's gaze lingered on Evelyn's wedding ring before her words snapped him back to reality.

Victoria didn't understand Alexander's actions, but recognized his fascination with that face.

That evening, Evelyn stood by her hotel window, working on her laptop.

She picked up Alexander's card, examined it briefly, then tossed it aside with a scoff.

'Alexander, you never expected me to still be alive, did you?'

"Mommy, Mommy, look! It's that mean lady!" A little girl toddled over, handing Evelyn a phone.

The screen showed a viral video of Evelyn's confrontation with Victoria at Golden Arches. Someone had filmed the entire scene.

As Willowbrook's most prominent figure, Alexander's personal life was public knowledge.

Now Victoria's refusal to apologize after bumping into someone and her entitled attitude were exposed for all to see. The internet roasted her for being a spoiled socialite without basic manners.

In contrast, Evelyn received widespread praise for her grace under pressure. Many commented she carried herself like true aristocracy. Speculation ran wild about her appearance beneath those sunglasses.

Closing her laptop, Evelyn gazed at the city lights beyond the window, her lips curling into a cold smile.

'Victoria, this is only the beginning.'
