Chapter 311
Hearing those words, Evelyn didn't react with anger this time. Instead, a knowing smile curved her lips.
"Victoria Lancaster, I believe you've finally lost your mind. How can you say such things to me without an ounce of shame?"
"I'll be perfectly sane long after you've gone mad," Vivian Prescott countered smoothly, unfazed by the confrontation.
"Given how things stand now, do you honestly think Alexander would still want you?"
"Ha! Stop deluding yourself!" Victoria crossed her arms, her sneer dripping with arrogance. "Vivian Prescott, let me make this clear. No matter how you change your appearance, the woman Alexander loves most will always be me. I'm one of a kind!"
Evelyn's lips curled at Victoria's overconfident display. "One of a kind?" she repeated, savoring the irony. With elegant fingers, she picked up the expensive Bordeaux, pouring a generous amount into the crystal glass before her.
"A vile, scheming snake like you certainly is rare in this world. I suppose you could be called a 'unique' specimen," Vivian mused, swirling the crimson liquid before taking a refined sip.
"You bitch! How dare you!" Victoria's face darkened instantly. Seeing Vivian casually enjoying the wine she'd prepared for her romantic dinner with Alexander sent rage coursing through her veins. "That was for my candlelit dinner with Alexander! How dare you touch it!"
Without warning, Victoria lashed out, knocking the glass from Vivian's hand. Ruby droplets splashed across Vivian's pristine white dress.
Spotting the stains, Victoria smirked in satisfaction.
"Hmph, Vivian Prescott. Save your pathetic efforts. With that face identical to that whore Evelyn's, you're destined to be crushed beneath my feet just like she was! You're no different from that trash. You're not even worthy to be my opponent - you don't deserve to lick my shoes— Ah!"
Victoria's triumphant rant was cut short as icy liquid cascaded over her face. She shrieked, blinking wine from her eyes to see Vivian holding the now-empty glass.
"You—" Victoria gasped, chest heaving with fury. The expensive wine dripped from her hair, tracing paths down her still-healing scars before staining her designer dress.
"Excellent vintage. Did you get a proper taste? If not, I'd be happy to pour you another glass." Vivian smiled serenely, lifting the bottle with graceful fingers and tilting it threateningly over Victoria's designer heels.
Victoria scrambled backward, gaping at Vivian's audacity.
"What's wrong? Not a fan of red wine? Perhaps you'd prefer your own cooking?" Vivian arched a perfect brow. With deliberate movements, she began scooping up Victoria's carefully prepared dishes and dumping them at the woman's feet.
"How about these? More to your taste?"
Victoria's jaw clenched. Seeing both her seduction outfit and gourmet meal ruined, her face twisted with barely contained rage.
Vivian met her glare with amused defiance, which proved too much for Victoria's fraying control.
"Vivian Prescott, you miserable bitch!" she shrieked, lunging forward.
Vivian's smile never wavered. She lifted the wine glass and hurled it at Victoria's feet.
The crystal shattered explosively, sending shards skittering across the marble floor.
"Ah!" Victoria jerked back, stumbling into the cabinet behind her. She hadn't expected Vivian to actually throw something at her!
"You! How dare you—" Victoria sputtered, trembling with incoherent fury. "Vivian Prescott, you must have a death wish! Fine! Since you're so eager to die, I'll make sure you suffer exactly like that bitch Evelyn - trapped between life and death!"
