Chapter 554

Dominic Kingsley was already waiting when Evelyn Sinclair arrived at the private dining room.

Several familiar faces accompanied him.

She smiled warmly and embraced Dominic. "Excellent work, Mr. Kingsley."

Dominic's usually composed expression softened, though exhaustion lingered in his features.

"It's my duty. Thankfully, we didn't disappoint Montecito's AI industry."

Evelyn smirked inwardly. He really knows how to play the visionary.

After exchanging greetings, the group settled in, conversation flowing easily.

"Let's order," Evelyn suggested. "Tonight's on me—get whatever you like."

Dominic hesitated. "I should be the one treating. Consider it an apology to Mr. Blackwood."

Dominic was pleased with the outcome. His triumphant return to Montecito warranted celebration, and he had invited Evelyn and Nathan to dinner.

"Why don't we all decide together?"

Dominic deferred. "That wouldn't be proper. Mr. Blackwood should order first."

Nathan's gaze darkened at the proximity between them, but his smile remained smooth. "Go ahead, Mr. Kingsley. Everyone, order freely."

His eyes chilled as he watched Evelyn grin at Dominic.

The group relaxed after Nathan's reassurance.

Dominic selected a few dishes before passing the menu to Evelyn, who immediately handed it to the others. She didn’t want them to feel pressured by the bosses’ choices.

As conversation resumed, Nathan’s hand, resting casually on the back of her chair, brushed against her hair. Instead of pulling away, he toyed with a loose strand.

Evelyn shot him a sideways glance.

Nathan met her gaze, his fingers stilling. A shiver ran through him.

Damn it. He was utterly captivated by her.

Food and drinks arrived, easing the tension.

Evelyn and the other women opted for wine, while the men raised their glasses in a toast to Nathan and Evelyn.

The atmosphere grew lively. Nathan quietly arranged transportation for everyone, ensuring they could drink without worry.

After several rounds, Dominic leaned toward Evelyn with a conspiratorial wink.

Nathan’s expression turned icy.
