Chapter 581

Nathan's expression darkened. "Why didn't you marry someone else?"

Tristan smirked. "Unlike your Ms. Holloway, my girl is easy to please. A few sweet words and some benefits, and she came running back. Even if you handed Evelyn the keys to Blackwood Industries, she wouldn’t spare you a second glance."

Nathan fell silent.

Because it was true.

Even if he offered her everything, she’d probably walk away without a word.

Tristan gestured to the banquet hall. "Look at this setup. Gorgeous, isn’t it? Vivian’s only request was to design our remarriage venue herself. Every inch of this place reflects her taste." He chuckled. "Women, right? You’ve got to know exactly what they want."

And what did Evelyn want? Nathan had no idea. His mood soured further.

Tristan clapped him on the shoulder. "Blackwood, my wife arranged some entertainment for later. I’ll find a way to slip you in—"

They were best friends, after all. Now that Tristan was happily remarried, he couldn’t just watch Nathan suffer.

Nathan didn’t respond. He strode inside without another word.

He’d had enough of Tristan’s gloating.

Meanwhile, Oliver Sinclair trailed behind Evelyn. No one stopped the well-dressed boy, so he wandered freely, helping himself to the dessert table.

Evelyn and Lucas chatted with guests while Oliver settled at a table, happily indulging in sweets.

The venue was a dreamy sea of white, clearly designed with meticulous care.

Lucas pulled Evelyn aside. "Natalie’s over there."

Evelyn sighed.

Natalie exchanged a few words with the woman beside her—the bride, Vivian Lockwood—before directing staff to adjust something nearby.

Spotting them, Natalie turned and approached with a smile.

"Evelyn, Lucas! You made it."

Evelyn nodded. "Did you design all this?"

Natalie shook her head modestly. "I just helped. The bride had the final say on everything."

Evelyn arched a brow. "It’s stunning."

But something about it felt… incomplete.

Lucas pulled a small box from his pocket and handed it to Natalie.

"I’ve been meaning to give this to you. Never found the right moment."

Natalie hesitated before accepting it. She opened it, then gave him a polite smile.

"Thanks. You could’ve just sent it over. No need for a special occasion."

Evelyn and Lucas exchanged shocked glances.

Natalie cared deeply about this item—yet she barely glanced at it before tucking it away.

Lucas’s face fell, but he said nothing.

Evelyn nudged Natalie’s arm. "Lucas stayed up for days fixing that. It’s not perfect, but it’s close. Take a proper look—are you happy with it?"

Natalie seemed surprised Lucas had repaired it himself.

Just as she reached to examine it, Vivian called her name. Without hesitation, Natalie pocketed the gift.

"His effort means a lot, so of course I’m satisfied. I’ve got to help now—we’ll talk later."

Evelyn nodded and let her go. She couldn’t interfere with Natalie’s responsibilities.

Turning to Lucas, she patted his shoulder.

"Lucas… I don’t think reconciliation is in the cards for you two."

Lucas shot her a look. "That’s ridiculous."

What was?

The idea of getting back together?

Or the idea that it was impossible?

Before Evelyn could ask, the massive screen displaying the couple’s wedding photos suddenly went dark.

The room fell silent.

Then the screen flickered back to life—

Gasps erupted.

A slideshow began—but not of wedding photos.

Instead, image after image of Tristan with different women filled the screen.

Intimate shots of him shopping with models.

Him having tea with actresses.

Him lounging on a beach with a trio of international celebrities.

The scandal had just begun.
