Chapter 643

Preston frowned as Reginald Blackwood drawled, "With your sluggish tactics, she'll only glance your way at forty or fifty—unmarried and too late. Better make an irrevocable move. Get her pregnant. She'll have no choice then."

Preston's face iced over. His gaze turned arctic. "She's Evelyn Sinclair."

Not some helpless victim. Backed by Sterling Enterprises, she'd retaliate fiercely. Provoking the Sterlings meant mutual destruction.

Reginald chuckled coldly. "Precisely because she's a Sinclair. Their reputation can't afford scandals. We'll force their hand."

Preston stared him down. "What 'necessary means'?"

Reginald smirked. "Kidnapping. Compromising situations. Media exposure. Once entangled, she can't escape. Our public apology will smooth things over. Then retrieve your sister—Ingrid's suffered enough."

Preston's blood ran cold.

How dare he plot this against Evelyn? While Preston had entertained dark fantasies in anger, he knew acting on them would earn him a knife to the throat—not forgiveness.

Seeing Preston's silence, Reginald grew smug. "Don't overthink ethics. Results matter—unless you want to watch her bear another man's heirs and create powerful enemies for us?"

To Reginald, the Sterlings were either allies or threats. Evelyn's brilliance made her too valuable to lose.

"Grandfather." Preston's glacial tone could freeze hell. "Harm her, and I'll have you supervised 24/7. Attempt anything, and you'll join Mother abroad indefinitely."

Reginald's face purpled. "You'd threaten me over a woman?"

Preston's smile didn't reach his eyes. "Find a hobby. Fishing. Travel. Chess. Stay out of my affairs."

"Don't tell me you don't want this!"

"I do. But I'll win her properly—not through cowardice."

The standoff crackled between them.

Reginald sneered. "Your loss." He turned to leave, convinced Preston would relent.

Instead, Preston's voice turned deadly. "Remember my warning. Cross me, and you'll regret it."
