Chapter 973

Evelyn Sinclair strode into her office, where Bennett was already waiting with her usual coffee and a stack of documents neatly arranged on the desk.

"President Sinclair, everyone's assembled for the morning meeting. We can begin whenever you're ready."

She checked her watch. Perfect timing. With a nod, she rose from her chair.

"Harrison Blake arrived early this morning. He's been waiting for nearly an hour. Should we notify him first?"

Bennett couldn't hide his surprise. After last night's scandal, he'd assumed that would be the last time they'd see Harrison at Sterling Enterprises.

A celebrity with that kind of reputation was a liability—one that could tarnish the company's long-standing prestige.

Evelyn didn't hesitate. "No. Let him wait."

If she made this easy for him, it would only encourage others to think they could exploit Sterling's resources.

Bennett nodded, and they left the office, heading straight for the conference room.

What was supposed to be a twenty-minute meeting stretched into an hour and a half.

The tension in the room was thick, but Evelyn remained unshaken, her composure unbreakable. By the time it ended, everyone except her was sweating.

Back in her office, Bennett prepared another cup of coffee.

Evelyn paused. "Is he still here?"

"Yes." Bennett knew she meant Harrison.

"Schedule a meeting with Dominic Kingsley. I'll go see him later." Unlike last night's verbal confrontation with Isabella, Harrison's situation was far messier.

Bennett nodded and left. Moments later, he confirmed the appointment.

Dominic Kingsley wouldn't dare put on airs with Evelyn—after all, Lucas Sterling was the real power behind Horizon Media, and Dominic was just an employee.

Evelyn took Harrison with her to Horizon Media.

Harrison remained eerily calm, following her without question. He didn't speak a word during the entire ride.

When they entered Dominic's office, they found more than just him waiting.

Lucas was there too, lounging in a chair like he owned the place.

Evelyn frowned. "What are you doing here?"

Lucas grinned. "Working."

What a joke.

She rolled her eyes at him before turning to Dominic with a polite smile. "Mr. Kingsley, it's been a while."

Dominic returned the smile. "You could've just called if you needed something. No need to come all this way."

Lucas chuckled from the side.

"Of course she had to come in person. You know how stubborn Little E can be."

If this weren't someone else's office, Evelyn would've thrown her stiletto at him.

She suppressed her irritation and gestured for Harrison to step forward.

"I don't need to introduce him, do I?"

Dominic, ever the seasoned industry player, delivered his practiced response flawlessly.

"Mr. Blake, you've kept a low profile lately. Your talent is undeniable—it's a shame outside matters have overshadowed it. But gold always shines. With your skills, you'll reclaim your place in no time."

Evelyn nearly laughed.

Harrison kept his head slightly bowed, his expression unreadable. His posture was indifferent, almost detached.

Lucas glanced between him and Evelyn, then smirked.

"You broke up with Preston and now you're into him? Your taste changes fast."

The temperature in the room plummeted. Dominic didn't even dare breathe.

Lucas could tease Evelyn—no one else would dare.

She shot him a frosty glare. "Do you have a death wish?"

Lucas immediately wiped the smirk off his face. "Don't tattle to Dad. If you need help, just ask me."

As if.

Evelyn ignored him.
