Chapter 243

Nathan's eyes narrowed slightly. Has Father gone completely insane?

"Give it to Oliver," Nathan signaled his assistant.

Oliver took the lunchbox with a polite smile. "Rosalind, I'll handle this."

Rosalind didn't respond immediately. Instead, she studied Nathan with a knowing smirk. "Heading out somewhere?"

"Rosalind, Mr. Goldmann is visiting his wife," Oliver answered before Nathan could, earning himself a sharp glare.

Wife? A flicker of ice passed through Rosalind's gaze. He must mean Evelyn Vanderbilt. Nathan really does prioritize her above all else.

"Is there anything else?" Nathan checked his watch impatiently.

Rosalind shook her head, her smile never wavering.

Without another word, Nathan strode away.

Oliver lingered just long enough to offer Rosalind a conciliatory grin. "Don’t take it personally. He’s just eager to see Evelyn."

Then he hurried after Nathan, oblivious to the way Rosalind’s expression darkened.

Nathan arrived at Soul Jewelry Studio only to find a cluster of female employees whispering outside the reception room, peering inside with hushed excitement.

"What’s going on here?" His voice cut through their chatter like a blade.

They startled, scrambling aside as he approached.

Through the open door, Nathan saw Evelyn bent over a jewelry design, deep in conversation with a man standing far too close to her. The man’s profile was unmistakable—Adrian Boucher.

Evelyn glanced up, spotting Nathan. Adrian turned as well, their eyes locking in a silent standoff.

Adrian merely smirked, unfazed, while his assistant, Nina, and the rest of his team subtly retreated.

"What are you doing here?" Evelyn asked, brows knitting together.

Is he really that free?

Nathan’s jaw tightened. "Do I need a reason?"

Is she upset that I interrupted her little moment with Adrian?

Evelyn blinked, baffled. What’s his problem today?

Adrian set down the jewelry sample he’d been examining and chuckled. "Surely Ms. Vanderbilt is allowed to entertain a client?"

The air between them crackled, two powerful men radiating tension in the confined space.

Nathan’s gaze hardened. This bastard thinks he can act so casually just because we grew up together?

"What happened to Taylor Jewelry?" Nathan demanded.

"Taylor Jewelry has partnered with Soul Jewelry. Madam Nora introduced me," Adrian replied smoothly.

Evelyn crossed her arms. "You don’t think my designs are worthy of an award-winning actor?"

"I never said that."

Nathan looked away, clearing his throat. "Ordering jewelry is fine," he muttered. "But there’s no need to stand so close."

The staff exchanged shocked glances.

Mr. Goldmann is jealous?

"Childish," Evelyn muttered under her breath before turning back to Adrian.

Nathan suddenly felt like an intruder in his own wife’s workspace. When will she ever focus on me like that?

After finalizing the design, Adrian flashed her a charming smile. "I’ll need the full collection for my film. Don’t worry—I’ll return everything intact. And I’ll pay the advertising fee, of course."
