Chapter 290

"Enjoy yourself, Vivian Prescott! These men aren't half bad!"

"Have you no shame, Victoria Lancaster?"

"Hahaha... Maybe if you begged, I might have considered letting you go. But since you're being so stubborn, you can just die!" Victoria's bandaged face twisted into a cruel smirk.

Evelyn refused to let Victoria hurt her again, not before she made her pay for everything she'd done.

As the four thugs advanced, Evelyn clenched her fists.

She'd fight to her last breath before surrendering to these monsters.

Spotting a broken pipe near the wall, she lunged for it before anyone could react.

"Oh? A feisty one. I like that." The scarred leader licked his lips, eyeing the makeshift weapon. "You should save your strength, sweetheart. Fighting back will only make this worse for you."

Evelyn stepped forward, her lips curling in defiance. "The only one who should worry is you!"

The men burst into laughter, their confidence unshaken.

In one swift motion, Evelyn drove her knee upward, striking the leader between his legs.

"Argh!" He collapsed, writhing in agony. "You bitch! Destroy her!"

One thug pulled out a chloroform spray, aiming for Evelyn's face.

She inhaled sharply as the chemical fumes hit her lungs. The world spun violently.

Her legs buckled. Even gripping the pipe, she couldn't stop the creeping darkness.

"Run! Why aren't you running?"

"Let's see how tough you are now!"

"Strip her!"

Through the haze, Evelyn saw Victoria's satisfied smile from the sidelines.

'Victoria Lancaster, you murdered my child and tried to kill me countless times. If I die today, I'm taking you straight to hell.'

The hatred burned through the fog, giving her strength to stagger upright.

Victoria's eyes widened briefly before smirking. "Pathetic."

The men grabbed Evelyn's arms, tearing at her blouse.

Suddenly, blinding headlights flooded the room.

Inside the car, Alexander Blackwood's knuckles turned white on the steering wheel. Seeing Vivian surrounded, her clothing torn, unleashed a primal rage.

The engine roared as he aimed directly for the nearest thug. The impact sent the man flying.

Alexander emerged like a storm, his polished shoes connecting with two more attackers.

Evelyn swayed, consciousness slipping.

He caught her just as her knees gave way, pulling her securely against his chest. The warmth of her body against his brought unexpected relief. "I've got you now, Evelyn. You're safe."
