Chapter 482

"Your words moved me deeply, Mr. Blackwood. But unfortunately, I'm not Evelyn Sinclair."

She denied it coldly, then let out a mocking laugh. "Even if I were Evelyn, I would never forgive you or give you another chance."

The light in Alexander's eyes extinguished instantly. His heart sank like a stone.

This answer shouldn't have surprised him. Yet hearing her denial felt like a dagger twisting in his chest.

Sebastian rushed to the scene as soon as he saw the live broadcast.

He pushed through the crowd, his usually refined face contorted with anger as he reached Vivian's side. In front of everyone, he grasped her hand possessively, his gaze challenging Alexander.

"Alexander, stop forcing your hypocritical apologies and fake love on Vivian. She's not your ex-wife Evelyn Sinclair whom you abandoned and humiliated. She's my fiancée, Vivian Prescott."

Sebastian's voice carried a clear warning.

This was the first time Vivian had seen such raw fury from the normally composed Sebastian.

"Out of respect for our relationship, I'll let this slide once. Have some dignity."

With that, Sebastian tried to lead Vivian away.

She didn't look back at Alexander as they turned to leave. But the moment they took their first steps, another familiar hand caught hers.

Vivian froze, forcing Sebastian to stop. His expression darkened when he saw Alexander holding Vivian's other hand.

"Release her. Now."

Ignoring Sebastian, Alexander stepped closer to Vivian.

Leaning down, he whispered something in her ear that made her eyes widen instantly.

Then loud enough for everyone to hear, he uttered four loaded words: "I'll wait for you."

Before anyone could react, Vivian suddenly released Sebastian's hand.

"Vivian?" Sebastian's face fell.

Her eyes brimmed with apology and urgency. "I'm sorry, Sebastian. I have to go. It's important. I'll explain later."

She was gone before he could stop her, clearly following Alexander's path.

The crowd murmured, suspicions growing about whether Vivian Prescott was truly the abandoned Evelyn Sinclair.

From his car's rearview mirror, Alexander watched Vivian approach.

A bittersweet feeling washed over him. Pathetic, that this was the only way to get her attention now.

He'd brought this upon himself.

Before he could dwell further, Vivian yanked open the passenger door and slid in.

"No more games, Alexander. Take me to my child now." Her demand cut through the air.

Alexander studied her striking profile with a faint smile. "I promised to bring our child to you today, and I will."

Vivian scoffed. "Over a decade ago, someone promised to protect and cherish me forever. How did that turn out?"

Her icy glare intensified. "Unless I see my child with my own eyes, your words mean nothing to me."

"Very well," Alexander conceded, starting the engine. "Let's go meet our child."
