Chapter 591

Nathan Blackwood felt like he'd stepped into his own trap. There was no backing out now.

If only he'd refused from the beginning.

Dominic Kingsley remained silent, watching him with an unreadable expression.

Regret burned through Nathan like acid.

He snatched up a cigarette, lighting it with sharp movements. Smoke curled around him as he tapped the ash onto the table. "Forget it."

"Consider it a loss."

Harrison hesitated, unsure how to respond.

"Sir, Dominic Kingsley at Horizon Media is confident in the show's success. Ratings are projected to be high. This won't be a waste—it might even turn a profit."

Nathan's gaze darkened.

"Would you want this money?"

He wanted the show to fail spectacularly.

Harrison stiffened, wisely choosing not to push further.

Bennett would’ve been useful right now. But he wasn’t here.

Then came the update.

The show needed a male guest host.

Nathan made his decision instantly—he would go himself.

These women needed their perspectives corrected. People deserved second chances. Redemption was possible. They were still young, after all.

He ordered Harrison to inform the production team—he’d appear as a mystery guest. Evelyn Sinclair was in for a surprise.

When Evelyn received the news, she also suggested a male guest, leaving Dominic to handle negotiations.

Dominic stared at the two names, stress aging him by the minute. He rubbed his temples before turning to Lucas Sterling, lounging carelessly on the sofa.

"Lucas, this is your company. Who should we pick?"

Lucas smirked. "Whoever's more popular."

Dominic exhaled sharply.

Two weeks later, everything was set.

Evelyn handed Sterling Enterprises' affairs to Alexander and left for filming with a clear mind.

On set, three divorced celebrities stood beside Vivian Lockwood—whom she already knew.

Cassandra Blake. Seraphina Devereux. Giselle Fontaine.

Cassandra was sharp-tongued, Seraphina breathtakingly beautiful, and Giselle hovered nervously behind them.

All three were A-listers.

Their marriages had made headlines, yet none lasted beyond two years before ending in divorce.

Ironically, their careers had only soared since.

Vivian, gentle and reserved, sat quietly in the corner while the others chatted animatedly.

When Evelyn entered, the three actresses sprang up, embracing her like old friends.

The atmosphere turned instantly warm.

Of course it did. No one in the industry dared cross Evelyn Sinclair.

Her starting point was their finish line. One word from her could end careers built over decades.

They offered her the center seat, but Evelyn sat beside Vivian instead.

Confusion flickered across their faces.

Evelyn smiled faintly. "Mr. Kingsley, why don’t you introduce everyone?"

Only Evelyn could command Dominic like this without consequence.

Dominic stepped forward.

"First, our producer—Ms. Lockwood. She specializes in divorce law and will provide legal guidance throughout the show."

The three women paled. The woman they'd ignored was the producer?

Vivian nodded politely.

Dominic breezed through Evelyn’s introduction—labeling her the "special guest"—before presenting the actresses.

"And our mystery male team captain?"

Dominic’s lips curved into a knowing smirk.
