Chapter 206
Dominic Fletcher's face turned ashen, his pupils dilating with sheer terror.
"Get away from me, Evelyn! Stop haunting me! I—I was just following orders! I was paid to do it!"
"Dominic Fletcher!" Victoria Lancaster cut in sharply, her voice trembling as she signaled the bodyguards. "Remove this man immediately!"
Dominic ignored her, his shaking finger pointing accusingly at Victoria.
"Evelyn Sinclair! If—If you want revenge, haunt her! It was all Victoria's doing! She orchestrated everything!"
Victoria felt an icy chill crawl down her spine. The air around her thickened with tension, and she didn’t dare look at Alexander Blackwood’s expression.
"What’s going on? Who is this man? What is he talking about?" Margaret Blackwood rushed forward, her voice laced with alarm.
Victoria desperately tried to deflect. "Mrs. Blackwood! This is Dominic Fletcher. He and Evelyn were involved in an illicit affair. They also plotted Ethan’s kidnapping together!"
"So it’s you!" Eleanor Kingsley’s face flushed with rage as she advanced on Dominic. "You helped that wretched woman take my grandchild! You monster! Evelyn Sinclair may be dead, but you’re still breathing? You deserve to die!"
"Indeed."
Alexander’s voice was like a blade of ice, freezing the air in Victoria’s lungs.
Dominic, now sobering up, realized the danger he was in. He tried to back away, but Alexander’s grip tightened around his tie like a noose.
"Say it again," Alexander commanded, his eyes burning with lethal intent.
Dominic shuddered, cold sweat drenching his back.
Victoria’s heart pounded as she watched, terrified the truth would unravel. She stumbled forward, her voice frantic.
"Alexander, please—ignore him! He’s drunk and delusional! He’s just trying to cause trouble. Let him go!"
Alexander’s gaze flicked to her, his lips curling into a chilling smirk. "Delusional? A liar? That’s not what you told me before. You were very certain when you claimed he was Evelyn’s ex-lover."
"I—Alexander, I didn’t lie! If anyone lied, it was Dominic and Evelyn—" she babbled, panic rising.
"Then let’s find out who’s really lying."
His voice was so cold it sent shivers down Victoria’s spine.
With that, Alexander yanked Dominic forward, forcing him to face Evelyn. "Look at her. Tell me why you of all people think she’s haunting you."
Dominic’s mind was still foggy, but as his eyes locked onto Evelyn, his legs nearly gave out.
Guilt was a heavy burden to bear.
Trembling, he fell to his knees, his voice breaking. "It wasn’t me! I swear! Yes, Evelyn, I—I wanted you back then, but I never touched you! It was all Victoria! She made me lie! If you want revenge, take it from her! She’s the one who pulled the strings!"
