Chapter 32

"Do you enjoy this?" Dominic's voice was husky as he lifted Evelyn from the bench in one swift motion, his movements urgent and rough.

Her body collided with his solid chest, the impact knocking the breath from her lungs.

It took her a moment to realize she was now trapped in his unyielding embrace.

"I'll make sure you love it even more." With that promise, Dominic pinned her against the glass window of the Ferris wheel cabin. High above the city, his lips claimed hers—soft, demanding, intoxicating.

The cool night air contrasted sharply with the heat of his touch.

A quiet moan escaped her as he deepened the kiss, his tongue teasing hers.

Unable to resist, her hands slid around his waist, gripping the fabric of his shirt.

When she responded, Dominic groaned, his lips parting further, guiding her into the rhythm he set.

Evelyn's fingers trailed up his torso, settling on his broad shoulders. Her body arched instinctively, craving more of him.

Her tongue tangled with his, both of them lost in the desperate need between them.

Only when she gasped for air did he finally pull back—but not for long. His lips found the delicate shell of her ear instead.

His breath scorched her skin as he nipped at her earlobe.

A whimper tore from her throat.

Her cheeks burned with desire. His shirt was half undone, the fabric wrinkled from her desperate grip.

As his mouth trailed down her neck, teeth grazing her collarbone, pleasure shot through her, leaving her trembling.

His heartbeat pounded against her chest, his breathing ragged. Every inch of him was pure temptation, eroding her last shred of control.

"Please..." she begged shamelessly, tears welling in her eyes.

Dominic bit down gently on her collarbone before pulling away slightly, his own restraint fraying.

With one hand tangled in her hair, the other worked at his belt, the metallic clink loud in the quiet cabin.

Then—

A sharp vibration cut through the moment.

Dominic ignored it, too consumed by the woman in his arms.

The phone rang again.

Growling, he yanked it out, his expression darkening at the caller ID.

Sebastian Whitmore.

His jaw clenched. Without hesitation, he tossed the phone aside, letting it clatter to the floor.

His lips crashed back onto hers, his hands roaming possessively—

Then the damn phone rang again.

Sebastian gripped his phone tighter, his brow furrowed. He'd lost count of how many times he'd called.

Eight? Nine?

Finally, the line connected.

"Apologies, Mr. Blackwood," he said carefully, "but this couldn't wait. We found the bottle in the hotel trash. The lab results came back—this drug is dangerous. Any woman who takes it cannot engage in intercourse. If she does—"

"What happens?" Dominic's voice was ice.

Sebastian swallowed hard. "She could hemorrhage."

Even through the phone, the threat in Dominic's silence was palpable.

"Send a doctor. Now."

Back in the Ferris wheel, Dominic forced himself to put distance between them.

But Evelyn whimpered, reaching for him.

"Stay still," he ordered, voice strained. "Unless you want to get hurt."

She sobbed, frustration and need warring inside her.

The doctor wouldn't arrive for another twenty minutes.

Dominic couldn't stand her tears. His usual iron control wavered.

If he couldn't take her, he could still give her something.

His lips captured hers again, swallowing her cries.

Her body melted against his, the heat between them unbearable.

Dominic's hands roamed, reducing her to a trembling mess—

Sebastian, ever efficient, got the doctor there in fifteen.

Evelyn was handed over, her body limp from the medication.

Sebastian stood stiffly, watching Dominic's thunderous expression.

Definitely unfulfilled.

The doctor administered a sedative, and Evelyn finally stilled.

Dominic turned away, lighting a cigarette with sharp, controlled movements.

Sebastian waited until the cigarette was done before daring to speak.

"Should I arrange for you to see a doctor as well, sir?"

Dominic exhaled sharply. "Call her friend. She'll stay with her at the hospital."

Evelyn woke to a dry throat and unfamiliar surroundings.

She turned her head, blinking at Olivia beside her.

"How... are you feeling?" Olivia asked hesitantly.

Evelyn frowned, taking in the sterile hospital room.

"What happened?"

"You don't remember?" Olivia bit her lip. "Sophia Montgomery drugged you. With an aphrodisiac."

The word sent a jolt of humiliation through Evelyn.

Her mind raced, grasping at fragments—spiked juice, burning heat, running...

But after that?

Nothing.
