Chapter 338
The grand event hall buzzed with energy.
"Cheers!" Three strikingly handsome men clinked their glasses together. Their presence commanded attention from every woman in the vicinity.
These were the three most powerful men in A City.
Dominic Blackwood, CEO of T Corporation. Preston Worthington, head of Worthington Enterprises. James Kensington, chairman of Kensington Holdings. Few knew these men with vastly different personalities had been inseparable since university.
Their friendship had only grown stronger over the years.
Dominic's chiseled features exuded quiet authority. His piercing gaze held both danger and allure, making men nervous and women weak-kneed. Despite his global business empire, he maintained an impeccable reputation as A City's most eligible bachelor.
James Kensington possessed striking mixed-heritage features. His amber eyes sparkled with intelligence and charm. The Kensington fortune was legendary, and James was its cunning steward - a wolf in sheep's clothing who played social games with effortless grace.
His notorious playboy lifestyle filled gossip columns. Though he had a five-year-old son, the mother's identity remained his best-kept secret. This mystery only made women pursue him more fiercely.
Preston Worthington's beauty bordered on ethereal. His porcelain skin contrasted sharply with the sapphire ring on his thumb. The tailored trench coat accentuated his elegant frame. Publicly, he was a corporate titan. Privately, he ruled A City's underworld with ruthless efficiency.
Dominic conversed with his friends, but his gaze kept drifting toward the observation deck...
James playfully nudged Dominic's shoulder. "Never thought you'd be the first among us to settle down. And with such a stunning wife too."
Dominic flashed a knowing smile. "You're not doing too badly yourself. A five-year-old heir already. Who's the lucky mother?"
Preston raised his glass toward James. "I'm curious about that myself."
James smirked at his friends' probing. "Please. Preston, did Dominic ever tell you about his twins' mother before the truth came out? If he kept that secret for years, what makes you think I'll reveal mine? What if I told you my son's mother was a fairy from another realm?"
Preston rolled his eyes.
Dominic sipped his wine silently as the conversation turned to business matters.
Lillian Prescott approached the trio.
A seasoned actress, she moved with practiced grace, drawing every eye in the room.
"Dominic..."
She draped herself against Dominic's arm with familiar ease, then turned her dazzling smile to his companions. "Good evening, gentlemen. Friends of Dominic's?"
Preston and James exchanged amused glances.
'Doesn't she know Dominic hates being touched?'
Dominic's expression darkened. He discreetly extracted his arm. "Ms. Prescott, I prefer to keep physical contact to a minimum."
Lillian's smile faltered momentarily before she recovered. "Dominic..."
James watched the exchange with interest.
'Jonathan Prescott's adopted daughter has a crush on Dominic? Doesn't she know about the twins and their mother?'
He smoothly intervened, extending his hand. "James Kensington, at your service. I've admired your films, Ms. Prescott. You're even more radiant in person. How do you know our Dominic?"
Lillian recognized both men instantly. While both were eligible bachelors, one was a notorious playboy and the other had dangerous underworld connections. She preferred Dominic's clean reputation.
Still, the compliment pleased her. "You flatter me, Mr. Kensington. It's an honor to meet such distinguished gentlemen. I'm the spokesperson for one of T Corporation's perfume brands and needed to discuss something with Dominic."
She cast a coy glance at Dominic. Preston shot Dominic a look.
'Can't she see how uncomfortable he is? How dense.'
Dominic's tone turned icy. "As I've mentioned, Mr. Whitmore handles all brand collaborations. Please direct your inquiries to him."
Lillian stiffened. She hadn't expected public rejection.
"Daddy!" A child's cheerful voice interrupted.
Lillian turned to see the boy who'd bumped into her earlier, now holding Evelyn Sinclair's hand as they approached. Her eyes narrowed with barely concealed malice...
