Chapter 321

Dominic gave an approving nod. Evelyn had met his expectations perfectly.

He had intentionally embedded several flaws into the skyscraper's blueprint - subtle imperfections that only an expert eye could detect. The design appeared flawless at first glance, but contained deliberate structural weaknesses.

Evelyn was correct. The most glaring flaw was its impossible perfection.

By amplifying every realistic element beyond practical limits, the design had crossed into fantasy territory. Current construction technology couldn't possibly realize such a vision within this century.

Her other observations about the design's weaknesses were equally precise.

Dominic clapped his hands sharply. "Exactly. Ms. Sinclair has identified all the intentional flaws in my design. Everyone should learn from her example. Never hesitate to point out mistakes - even if they come from your CEO. Understood?"

Evelyn blinked in surprise before a pleased smile curved her lips.

As both CEO of T Corporation and a world-renowned architect, Dominic could have easily been arrogant. Most geniuses tolerated no criticism of their work.

Yet here he was, not only accepting her critique but encouraging others to do the same. This humility only deepened her admiration for him.

"I'm shocked you actually spotted those," Bernadette hissed in Evelyn's ear, green with envy. "Did the boss show you the designs beforehand? He never praises anyone publicly. What special favors did you do for him?"

Evelyn ignored the department head's barb.

Reacting would only encourage Bernadette's harassment. Silence was her best defense.

True to form, Bernadette fumed when her taunt failed to land. But with Dominic present, she couldn't make a scene. She shot Evelyn a venomous glare and clamped her mouth shut.

"Evelyn Sinclair," Dominic announced, his voice cool and measured. "Effective immediately, you're promoted to full designer status."

"Thank you, Mr. Blackwood. I won't let you down." Evelyn's confident reply couldn't mask her elation. Her hard work had finally borne fruit.

Dominic studied her intently before continuing. "We're launching a major collaboration with Vivi Group soon. You'll co-lead the project with Gregory Peterson and Abigail Thornton."

The announcement sent shockwaves through the room.

Vivi Group was a multinational powerhouse - one where T Corporation held a substantial 25% stake. Their relationship balanced precariously between partnership and competition. The upcoming project involved revitalizing a historic town for tourism.

Abigail and Gregory nodded at Evelyn in approval.

Most colleagues liked Evelyn for her humble, kind nature - except those consumed by jealousy.

Like Bernadette Worthing.

The department head nearly choked hearing Dominic assign the prestigious project to Evelyn alongside two senior designers.

While Abigail and Gregory's involvement made sense, what qualifications did this newcomer have? Was she, the department head, being sidelined?

Bernadette forced calm into her voice. "Mr. Blackwood, Evelyn lacks experience. Shouldn't someone more senior—"

Dominic's icy stare cut her off. "Are you questioning my judgment?"

Bernadette's knees nearly buckled.

She'd just challenged the CEO's authority - a fatal mistake.

Everyone knew Dominic's decisions were final. No one changed his mind once it was made. Bernadette swallowed her protest.

"Of course not, Mr. Blackwood," she backpedaled hastily. "Evelyn is... talented. Team collaboration is... beneficial."

The other designers regarded Evelyn with complex emotions.

They'd clawed their way up through years of grueling work and sacrificed brain cells.

Under T Corporation's rigid hierarchy, design assistants typically needed a full year to earn promotion.

Yet here was Evelyn - not only promoted within months but handed a major project alongside managers!

Incredible luck!

Evelyn sighed inwardly. While others saw fortune, she felt handed a ticking time bomb.

Why would Dominic entrust such responsibility to a newcomer?

Meanwhile, in a secluded suburban mansion...

A discreet luxury vehicle pulled up, discharging a distinguished middle-aged couple.

The square-jawed man carried himself with natural authority no casual attire could diminish.

His elegant companion moved with grace, her timeless beauty tinged with quiet sorrow.

Jonathan Prescott and Genevieve Prescott had come to visit Charles Prescott, Jonathan's retired father.

Charles had lived in this aging estate since retirement.

Jonathan had often suggested renovations, hoping to lift his father's spirits.

As they entered, hearty laughter greeted them - an unusual sound from the typically reserved former statesman.

"What's brought you such joy, Father?" Jonathan asked, guiding his wife inside.

An aristocratic woman hurried to greet them, face alight. "We've been waiting! Your father and I were just—"

Charles beamed at his son, thrusting forward architectural plans. "See? Finally found a designer who understands me! This one's got real talent!"
