Chapter 375

Dominic pulled Evelyn into his embrace.

His muscular arms encircled her slender waist as he rained tender kisses across her face.

The sweet scent of vanilla, cherries, and strawberries lingered on his lips, making each kiss more intoxicating than the last.

Evelyn melted into his affection.

His warmth enveloped her completely. The soft lighting made Dominic's long lashes appear almost translucent, and his unusually gentle expression made her heart flutter.

Their passionate exchange continued until Dominic's hands began wandering beneath her blouse.

"Dominic," Evelyn gasped, breaking the kiss. "Shouldn't we... eat the cake first?"

The handsome man tightened his possessive hold. "The only thing I want to taste right now is you," he growled.

His words sent her pulse racing.

Noticing the children's absence, Evelyn pushed against his chest. "Wait... where are Alexander and Isabella?"

That predatory look in Dominic's eyes always unnerved her.

His gaze burned with primal hunger, promising she'd be powerless to resist if he chose to take her.

The flower-filled living room provided a romantic backdrop under the warm lighting.

Evelyn's flushed cheeks were clearly visible as she glanced around nervously.

She tried to step away, but Dominic caught her wrist. "They went to bed because they know what's about to happen. Don't worry - they know their way around. Stay with me tonight, Evelyn."

"I stay with you every night!" Her voice trembled with a mixture of panic and anticipation.

"Not like this." Dominic traced her lips with his fingertips before claiming them in another searing kiss.

Then he reached into his pocket and produced an elegant velvet box.

The diamond ring inside sparkled brilliantly under the lights.

"Evelyn Sinclair," Dominic knelt gracefully on one knee, "will you marry me?"

Evelyn stared at the stunning ring - a large central diamond surrounded by eighteen smaller stones.

Tears welled in her eyes as she pressed a hand to her mouth.

'Is Dominic really proposing?'

She stood frozen, wondering if this was a dream, until Dominic rose to his full height.

Towering over her petite frame, he slid the ring onto her finger before she could respond.

"Since you're not answering," Dominic murmured, his short hair brushing her cheek, "I'll take that as a yes. From this moment, you're Dominic Blackwood's wife. Till death do us part. No escaping me now, understand?"

"Dominic..." Evelyn remained dazed.

She studied the glittering ring through misty eyes, emotions swirling within her.

She never expected this proposal now.

It wasn't that she didn't want to marry him, but the obstacles between them seemed insurmountable. She'd resigned herself to a long wait.

Simply living together with Dominic and the twins had been enough - she didn't need titles.

"I've been busy with company matters," Dominic continued, pressing his forehead to hers, "but I'll give you the grandest wedding. I want the world to know you're mine. Evelyn Sinclair, will you marry me?"

His crystal-clear gaze held hers.

The simple question carried his characteristic dominance.

Evelyn's long lashes fluttered as tears spilled over.

Intertwining their fingers, she whispered solemnly, "Yes. As long as we love each other, nothing else matters. I want to be your wife, Dominic Blackwood. To care for you and our children forever."

Though simple, her words moved Dominic deeply. He responded with a passionate kiss.

Sweeping her into his arms, he carried her to their bedroom, pinning her beneath his powerful frame.

Evelyn suddenly remembered. "Alexander and Isabella are still—"

"Not children anymore," Dominic cut her off with another kiss. "They'll go to bed when tired."

'They're five!' Evelyn wanted to argue, but Dominic left no room for protest.

She longed to check on the twins, but Dominic consumed all her attention, showing his love in the most primal way.

Meanwhile downstairs...

"Achoo!" The twins sneezed simultaneously.

Isabella popped the last bite of cake into her mouth, her stomach pleasantly full.

Yawning, she rubbed her eyes. "So yummy, Alex. Wonder if Mommy liked it? I want her bedtime story."

Alexander carefully wiped cream from his sister's face with a wet wipe.

"Daddy and Mommy are making babies now. Probably designing one on the computer. We shouldn't disturb them. Maybe we'll get a sibling soon."

He'd once seen his father pinning his mother down, her face flushed with what looked like pain. When he'd accused Dominic of hurting Evelyn, his father had laughed it off.

His godmother Olivia had awkwardly explained, "That's how your daddy shows love. They're making babies - just like how you and Isabella were made."

"Really, Alex? A new brother or sister?" Isabella asked innocently.

"Mm-hmm. Let's sleep. Maybe they'll be done by morning." Alexander led his sister upstairs.

Passing their parents' locked bedroom door, the precocious boy cast a hopeful glance.

'I hope they make a smart brother, not another airhead like Isabella.'
