Chapter 387

Evelyn handed the pregnancy tests to Abigail. She waited anxiously outside the restroom instead of leaving.

Abigail's pale complexion worried Evelyn. She couldn't bear to leave her friend alone in this state.

Minutes later, the restroom door creaked open.

Abigail's trembling hand held the pregnancy stick. Her face had turned ghostly white.

Evelyn immediately spotted the two bold red lines.

Her breath caught. "Abby..."

During her time at the company, Evelyn had never heard Abigail mention having a boyfriend.

Abigail proudly called herself a career woman, often declaring she'd never marry or have children.

How could she be pregnant now?

Abigail looked shell-shocked, her usual confidence shattered.

'One drunken mistake. One stupid night. And now this?' Her thoughts spiraled. "I'm really pregnant... My life's over..." Her bitter laugh sounded foreign coming from her normally cheerful lips.

"Who's the father?" Evelyn asked carefully.

Abigail's eyes clouded with confusion. "That night... I was wasted. Didn't even see his face when I bolted in the morning. I... I don't know..."

Evelyn had never seen her strong-willed friend so broken.

She pulled Abigail into a tight embrace. "What's done is done. Now we focus on deciding what comes next."

Abigail steadied herself against Evelyn's shoulder. "I need time to think."

This pregnancy couldn't have come at a worse time.

No father. No relationship. And right when her career was taking off.

T Corporation's policy was clear - no promotions for pregnant employees or new mothers.

Her department head had hinted her name was on the promotion shortlist.

Now this unexpected development threatened everything.

"I'll support whatever you decide," Evelyn said gently. "If you choose termination, I'll go with you. But consider carefully - that baby's innocent, and the procedure carries risks..."

Evelyn's own maternal instincts made her hesitant about abortion.

"I'll think it through," Abigail murmured, pressing a hand to her still-flat stomach.

Regret consumed her - for that reckless night, for not even looking at the man's face.

'What if he's some criminal? Would my child inherit those traits?'

Meanwhile, Dominic left the office building with Sebastian for a business dinner.

Evelyn stayed behind to comfort Abigail.

At eight o'clock, Dominic called.

She headed downstairs to the parking garage.

The day's events weighed on her - the site visit, perfume commercial shoot, Abigail and Olivia's dramas. Exhaustion set in.

In the parking lot, Dominic stood smoking with Sebastian, his expression stern.

The moment he spotted Evelyn approaching, his gaze softened.

She wasn't conventionally stunning, but something about her captivated him - like a ripe peach begging to be tasted.

Sebastian noticed Evelyn's arrival. Her presence seemed to melt Dominic's icy demeanor.

"Ms. Sinclair," Sebastian said, "Mr. Blackwood had too much to drink tonight. I've got urgent business - could you drive? Or shall I call Lawrence?"

Dominic handed her the keys. "Evelyn will drive."

She stared at the gleaming Bugatti Chiron reflecting her wide-eyed expression. 'This costs more than my lifetime earnings!'

Though licensed for years, she rarely drove. Could she handle this beast?

Dominic took a final drag before flicking his cigarette away. "Let's go home."

The alcohol on his breath made her grip the keys tighter. "I'm not... experienced with driving..."

His lips curved. "Consider it practice. I'll buy you a car soon."

"But if I damage this..." Her voice trembled.

"You won't drive it off a cliff, will you?" he teased.

Evelyn shook her head. "But scratches... I couldn't possibly repay—"

Suddenly, Dominic pulled her into his arms.

Her heart skipped.

He toyed with her hair, whispering, "Then you'll just have to repay me with yourself."

Her pulse raced as he lifted her into the driver's seat before settling beside her.

"Relax," he murmured. "It's just metal. Our safety matters more. Drive it like a toy car - I won't blame you for dents."

Evelyn gaped. 'Only a billionaire could say that with a straight face!'
