Chapter 350

Evelyn stepped out of the courthouse. The clouds had parted, revealing a brilliant blue sky.

Sunlight bathed her face, warming her skin as the weight of years lifted from her shoulders.

Victoria and Sophia had finally faced justice.

Dominic's arm encircled Evelyn's waist. He studied her furrowed brow with concern. "What's troubling you?" His voice was velvet against her ear.

"I keep wondering if they'll appeal," Evelyn murmured. "What if the verdict changes?"

Dominic's expression hardened. "It won't. An appeal would only lengthen their sentence."

He had connections in places where those women would beg for mercy.

Evelyn rested her head against his shoulder.

The steady rhythm of his heartbeat soothed her. "I couldn't have done this without you."

She knew the legal battle would have dragged on for years without Dominic's influence.

Dominic guided her into the passenger seat before sliding behind the wheel. Before she could speak, his fingers tilted her chin up.

His lips claimed hers with possessive hunger.

Evelyn's pulse skyrocketed.

Dominic gave her no quarter, his breath hot against her skin.

The kiss felt like punishment.

His tongue explored her mouth with deliberate intensity, leaving her trembling.

Evelyn melted into the seat, a soft moan escaping her throat.

The sound drove Dominic wild.

Only their public location kept him from taking things further.

"Still planning to thank me so formally next time?" Dominic finally pulled away, his own breathing uneven.

Evelyn gasped for air, understanding dawning. He hated her gratitude.

Her cheeks burned. "I won't... do that again."

"Good." His smile held dark promise. "Next offense won't end with just a kiss."

The heat in his gaze stripped her bare.

Evelyn squirmed. All his "punishments" left her weak in the knees.

The engine purred to life.

Evelyn studied Dominic's hands on the steering wheel. "Are we returning to the office?"

Dominic smirked. "Briefly. Then I'm stealing you for dinner."

T Corporation's private elevator mirrored the couple - his towering frame beside her delicate silhouette.

Evelyn bit her lip. Another missed workday for the trial.

In her few months at T Corp, she'd set records for absenteeism.

The department head would have an aneurysm.

Dominic watched her shifting expressions with amusement.

"Stop that." Evelyn tensed under his predatory stare.

The confined space suddenly felt dangerous.

But Dominic only brushed his lips against her forehead.

On the executive floor, Dominic strode ahead while Evelyn maintained professional distance.

The CEO's office held... memories. Particularly of the adjoining bedroom.

Julian nearly collided with them. "Sis? Thought you were off today!" His guilty grin faltered under Dominic's glare.

"Skipping again?" Dominic's voice turned arctic.

"Just... getting air?" Julian's cigarette dangled between nervous fingers.

Dominic saw through the lie instantly. "Your office has a smoking lounge. Perhaps you'd prefer our South African branch?"

Julian paled. "Mercy, brother! I'll work triple hours! Don't exile me!" He shot Evelyn a pleading look. "See how cruel he is?"

Evelyn stifled laughter. Julian's childish antics were oddly endearing.

She tugged Dominic's sleeve. "He's useful here."

Julian nodded frantically. "Exactly! I'm family! You need me!"

Evelyn's next words made him choke. "Actually... with year-end approaching, Julian could handle your workload." She smiled sweetly. "Then we could take the children to Maldives."

Julian's cigarette fell to the floor.
